Rosaceae Family - Rosa woodsii
Common Name: Woods Rose
Flower Color: pink
Fall Color: orange
Most Common in Scrub Oak/Ponderosa ecosystems
Blooms in spring

Pleasant shrubs with large pink flowers. They smell nice, they're tough as nails, and they produce large, edible hips (a great source of vitamin C). You'll see these from the Animas River up to treeline. Like most plants in the region, size and shape, and even color are dependent on location.
